Custodial Nursing Care

The viewpoint of our staff is not that we have residents who live in our workplace.
Rather, we work in their homes. We pride ourselves with providing compassionate, caring and professional care.

We are a small family-oriented 14-bed custodial nursing facility. All of our staff members have additional education in aging, dementia and end-of-life care. Being a part of Morton General Hospital provides our patients with services not readily available at traditional nursing homes, including:

• 24-emergency department
• 24-hour laboratory services
• Easy access to patients' primary-care physician
• Multiple registered nurses onsite 24 hours a day
• Access to diabetes education
• Registered Dietician providing routine dietary consultations
• Certified Wound Care Nurse
• Physician Therapy
• Occupational Therapy
• Respiratory Therapy
• Speech Therapy

Our staff includes a full-time Certified Activities Professional to provide daily activities and an active restorative program for each resident. In addition, we often partner with Heritage House Assisted Living and Morton Manor Adult Family Home for day trips including Northwest Trek, shopping at Wal-Mart, the visiting the Lucky Eagle Casino, a Mariners Game and Christmas light viewing.

We boast a high staff-to-resident ratio to ensure all residents' and family needs are met. We think of our residents as family, not patients.. We treat them with  the same level of respect and dignity that we would expect for our own family members.

Nancy Pedersen, our hospital-community liaison, is available is available to meet with patients' and potential patients' families on evenings and weekends by appointment, as well as during the work day. In addition, she is available to assist community members prepare their Advanced Directives free of charge.
