Lewis County Hospital District No. 1, the parent agency of Morton General Hosiptal, is governed by an elected Board of Commissioners.
The hospital district is divided into three “commissioner districts”, with three of the commissioners representing the specific commissioner district where they reside. The remaining two commissioner positions are classified as “at large”, meaning the positions can be filled by anyone residing within the boundaries of the hospital district.
The mission of Lewis County Hospital District No. 1, steward of public funds and trust, is to provide our highest level of compassionate, diligent and professional medical care.
Ron DeArth, C.P.A. Hosptial Administrator Ron DeArth, CPA, has served as Morton General Hospital’s administrator since July 2005, first as an interim position and then became the permanent administrator in February of 2006.
Ron started at Morton General Hospital as our Chief Financial Officer in October 2001. Prior to coming to Morton, he was with a multi-hospital system in Eastern Washington for 25 years. The system encompassed four hospitals, one urban and three rural. The hospital system was owned by the Dominican Sisters of Washington.
With Dominican, Ron was the system’s Chief Financial Officer since 1980. He stepped up to serve as an Interim Chief Executive Officer twice when the need arose. He also served as the Chief Executive Officer of a for-profit subsidiary.
Ron earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Eastern Washington University in Cheney, Wash.

Heidi Keyes, R.N. Assistant Administrator of Nursing Services Heidi Keyes, R.N., has enjoyed a successful career in patient care. She began her nursing career at Bellevue Community College in Bellevue, Wash. in1983. She initially worked as a staff nurse before venturing into management. She served as the assistant nurse manager in the Pre-Admission/Out-patient Surgery at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle, Wash. from 1988 to 2000.
From there, Heidi moved to St. Joseph Hospital in Tacoma as a Progressive Care /Intensive Care Unit nurse until moving to St. Peter Hospital in Olympia in 2003. There, too, she was a staff nurse in the Intensive Care and Cardiac Intensive Care Units until 2004.
Heidi began working two-four night shifts per month at Morton General Hospital in 2001 when her family moved to Elbe. She accepted a full-time R.N. position in 2004. She was promoted to Director of Nursing in 2005 and then promoted again in 2006 to Assistant Administrator of Nursing Services.
Heidi focuses on researching best practices and ensuring we provide safe, quality care every time to every patient. She strives to encourage the staff to learn and keep up with the continually changes in nursing. She also concentrates on introducing new technology to the facility to improve patient care and provide more services to our community.

Kenton Smith Secretary of the Board Kenton Smith, of Packwood, represents Commissioner District No. 2, which encompasses Packwood, Randle and Glenoma. He was apointed to the board in 2003. |
Glenn Allen Commissioner Glenn Allen, of Morton, serves in one of the two "at large" commissioner positions. He was elected in the general election in 1995 and again in 2000 to six-year terms. |
Ross Jones Commissioner Ross Jones, of Mossyrock, also serves in an "at large" position. After holding a hospital commissioner position for several years in the mid 1990s, he was re-appointed to the board in August 2005 to fill an unexpired term. |
Brenda Vincent Commissioner Brenda Vincent, of Mossyrock, is our newest commissioner. Like Kenton, Ross and Marc before her, she was appointed to fill an unexpired term. She joined the board in June 2006 to represent Commissioner District No. 3, the Mossyrock area. |
