Lewis County Hospital District No. 1, doing business as Morton General Hospital, provides an array of medical services to eastern Lewis County including hospital services and three medical clinics.

Morton General Hospital is a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital (CAH) located in Morton, Wash, serving a 900-square-mile area and encompassing approximately 10,000 residents. The CAH designation is the determination by the federal and state governments that the hospital is critical to the residents of East Lewis County.

We boast of a nearly new hospital facility. The service area of the hospital (including surgery, emergency, diagnostic imaging, laboratory, dietary, general services and administration offices) was just opened in 2006. The patient-room wing was constructed in 1992 as a long-term care center and later adapted to acute-care patient rooms. Construction on a new addition to hold an expanded physical rehabilitation department and new sleep lab is expected to begin this year.
